Kinesio Tape Patient Instructions Kinesio Tape is latex-free, hypoallergenic and wearable for days at a time. The tape can be worn during showers and during physical activity. The tape can be removed early if any pain, skin irritation, or other adverse reaction is experience. If corners of tape begin to roll up, it can be trimmed with scissors. Removal: Apply baby oil, soap, or hair conditioner at least 5 minutes before removing the tape. These products will help soften the adhesive, making tape removal a more pleasant experience. Getting the tape wet and/or removing it in the shower can also help. Peel one end of the tape so that your fingers can grip a corner. Lift in the direction of hair growth (typically, away from the body). Keep the skin taut while removing tape. Another effective removal method is to roll the long side of the tape with the palm of your hand, across the long edge of the tape. Another method is to grasp the loose end with one hand and apply tension while pulling the skin away from the tape.
